The cracking of the mass market “one size fits all” approach to content (and clothing and everything else) is creating better service for all of us as consumers, plus interesting business opportunities for those of us who work at the intersection of content and technology.

I’m not surprised there’s a waiting list. A service as valuable as this has previously been reserved for those who could hire researchers. I do also think, though, that there’s room for small, independent presses or self-published authors to take an extra step in writing travel books with a more personalized, tighter focus. I’m thinking specifically of Wizard Publishing’s series on Hawaii (Maui Secrets Revealed, et. al). They seem to be the only ones going the extra mile, and my hat’s off to them.
