One Million Weblogs Tracked

million.PNGToday is an auspicious day, Technorati is now tracking over one million weblogs. We hit 100,000 back on March 5, and 200,000 on April 6nbsp; We hit the 400,000 mark on June 21. Technorati is currently tracking about 7,000 new weblogs per day, which means that a new weblog is being created approximately every 12 seconds. And I know we're not catching them all. Wow, that's incredible. Congratulations, Dave.

And I'm still stuck at what I estimate is number 150 in Technorati's global ranking--well-off the Top 100 Weblogs page.

*Sob*!!

David, good job. Must have a heck of a database.

Are you perchance using an algos to determine if a weblog has gone inactive? I'd be curious to see how many weblogs stop as compared to new ones starting.

Just curious.

kickass, dave! wait till AOL unleashes their software, you'll be watching 50,000 new weblogs each day :) or 2,000,000 in one week, considering how many AOL users there are.

At any rate, congrats.

Congrats dude! Now it's time to do something WITH all those blogs - united together. I just blogged this but you know that already - since one of those proud 1M. http://blogs.it/0100198/2003/09/27.html#a1774

Damn dude. That's impressive. I'm only at half a million. Very cool.

Outstanding news, Dave - for Technorati and for the entire blogging community. I give it a Yay and also a Woo, not necessarilly in that order :-)

Outstanding work!

A new Weblog's created every twelve seconds?

I would have to doubt that.

I mean, I checked Technorati sometime in July, and a couple of my logs weren't being tracked, despite being existent for quite some time. [I did add them, of course.]

Which is not to say that aggregation in this manner isn't a good thing. :D

Congratulations! :)

Congratulations!

And from my Universe, great news!

Hallelujah! After three months I am again at Technorati. I was able to claim my weblog and this time the claim worked. The following error message repeated multiple times is a concern:

*Warning*: RDFAPI error (class: parser): only one element allowed inside a property element. in */home/technorati/php/rdfapi/api/syntax/RdfParser.php* on line *841*

Perhaps, despite my recently-voiced doubts -- http://blogs.law.harvard.edu/ethicalesq/2003/10/04#a312 -- there really is a Blogosphere?

The jury is still out for scepticalEsq. Meanwhile, I gotta tell ya, it's quite a ruse. Congratulations.

Thats a hell lot of blogs

That is quite amazing.

It makes Localfeeds feel so small (about 3000 blogs).

Congrats!
