Proxim to acquire Agere’s Orinoco Division

1

Glenn Fleishman reports on Proxim’sannouncement that it will be buying Agere’s (formerly Lucent’s) Orinoco
wireless division. I agree with Glenn’s assessment, that this is a good
move for both Agere and for Proxim.

Interesting News; but with a lot of the pressure on various industries, there is likely to be “concentration” of industries. The orinoco stuff has matured so nicely in Linux that they are a pleasure to use with the kernel drivers.
One can hope that with the transfer that new technologies are fostered and that people are empowered in the cycle.
Is that possible? Well, of course :)
